| Primoz Ranik was born
in Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 1972 and trained at the Slovenian
National Academy for Theatre, Radio, Film and Television.

He started acting at the age of 12 when he landed
the lead role in Jurcek at the Sentjakob
Theatre, Ljubljana, and continued as a member of the Sentjakob
Theatre Company for 7 years, performing in a wide variety
of productions. |
Primoz appeared in the Oscar-winning film No Man’s Land (Nikogarsnja Zemlja) where he played alongside Katrin Cartlidge.
Other credits include appearances with the Slovenia
People’s Theatre in Celje and the Slovenian National Theatre in Maribor, most notably playing
the Lion in The Wizard of Oz. Primoz Ranik has also worked at the City Theatre of Ljubljana performing
in Od Jutri do Vceraj (From Tomorrow
to Yesterday) by Zarko Petan and in Zurka za Punce (Girls Went Out).
As well as writing and performing in many puppet-theatre shows (an art-form close to his heart) Primoz has also co-produced, directed and acted in a series of
5 plays with his friend and colleague Uros
Potocnik.
In September 2005 Primoz performed in Slovenia's first professional Murder Mystery presented by BEST at the Grand Hotel Toplice, Bled, and he is a regular member of our cast (performing in both Slovene and English).
Primoz will feature in BEST's production of Graham Swannell's drama/comedy A State of Affairs at the Glej Theatre, Ljubljana in Autumn 2008.
